BBC NEWS | Science & Environment | India’s water use ‘unsustainable’.

According to a current article on the BBC’s Science and Envirement, “Parts of India are on track for severe water shortages, according to results from Nasa’s gravity satellites.”

The article further states that India is preparing to face even worse water shortages due to the increase demand for groundwater by the agriculture sector as they struggle to feed the nation’s 1.2 billion people.

With village and community wells drying up, deep wells can go a long way to providing a solution for communities who do not have good sources of drinking water.  Help S.O.S. provide such deep wells in communities without access to safe, clean water.  Read more about this outreach.
