Watching people at the Airport!
Posted on June 25th, 2009.Here I sit again, in an airport. I am always struck by the amount of people who are travelling. The news of the week is that British Airways is in trouble because business class travel is down. One couldn’t tell by the volume of people here at Heathrow terminal 5.
I love to people watch. So many cultures and languages there are on planet earth. Hard to imagine a time in human history when only one people language group existed. But it was so! Remember the Bible tells the story of Babel where God had commanded the people to be fruitful and multiply and fill the whole earth. But they decided that it was a more desirable thing to stay together in one place. They said let’s work together and build a tower to heaven. God said “no” and confused their language and scattered them onward across the globe.
The diversity that was created is amazing. The new testament church was issued the same challenge. Jerusalem, Judea, Sameria and the ends of the earth. It was and is much easier to stay in one place. Let the world come to us. Even at the beginning of this new era we see all the nations of the known world there in Jerusalem, yet the mandate was to go. They stayed and a great persecution arose that scattered the church to other places beside Jerusalem. The amazing thing that you realize when you travel is just how much God loves other people and other places. He loves them just as much as He loves our people and place. In fact we see a glimpse into Heaven in the last book and it says there are people there from every Nation, tribe and language. In Heaven diversity doesn’t go away it was still recognized by a prophetic visionary. God loves people, language and culture!

Kudos. I wholeheartedly agree!
It is amazing, the ability to travel is an opportunity of which we have to take advantage.
